Chasing the Night Bite in Arroyo City

Eduardo arrived at Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park in Arroyo City hoping to finally experience the green-light fishing the area is known for. He booked a waterfront campsite with power and utilities, giving him a convenient place to fish, relax, and spend the night.

One of the first things he noticed was how remote the area felt. With very few stores nearby, he quickly realized anyone planning to stay in Arroyo City should bring groceries, water, and other essentials before arriving.

Determined to improve his fishing luck, Eduardo decided to try something new—catching his own bait. After watching a quick tutorial, he pulled out a cast net for the first time and began practicing from the shoreline. His early attempts were rough, but persistence paid off when he finally caught several mullet. He used the smallest one as bait and began thinking that catching local bait might be a better and cheaper strategy than buying shrimp every day.

As the sun went down, Eduardo headed to the pier for the main event: fishing under the green lights. Another angler landed the first trout of the night, giving everyone hope that the bite would turn on.

Unfortunately, even with a full moon and visible bait activity, Eduardo couldn't get the fish to cooperate. After staying out past midnight, he finally called it a night.
