Eduardo and Jr fishing at Seawolf Park

Daniel Lopez

In this episode, I switch things up and hit the water without Daniel for once. He’s still on vacation, so I bring Junior along to sub in and, of course, he’s already talking trash like he’s coming for Daniel’s spot on the channel. We originally planned to fish a pier in Galveston, but the wind is crazy, so we pivot and stop at Lee and Joe Jamail Bay Park, a quiet little pier with deep water that looks promising.

Right away, it feels weird not having Daniel out there with me. I’m used to us fishing side by side, competing and joking around. We get set up, talk rigs and bait, and just enjoy the view while waiting on bites. Junior wastes no time, though—he hooks into a small fish within minutes and starts bragging. Then he catches another. Suddenly I’m down 2–0 and already hearing about it.

We joke around the whole time—bad puns, stories, and random debates—just killing time between casts. After things slow down, we pack up and head over to fish at Seawolf Park in Galveston for spot number two. Same deal: more laughs, more trash talk, and Junior somehow keeps catching fish while I struggle to keep up.

By the end, it turns into a full-on sibling rivalry. He’s counting every catch like it’s the finals, and I’m just trying not to get skunked. Even though the fish were small, the day was all about the laughs, the competition, and just being out fishing with family.
