First Time Fishing the Freeport Jetty

Eduardo started the morning before sunrise at the Freeport Jetty, a spot he had never fished before. With comfortable temperatures and the sun still coming up, he was hoping the early start would lead to some good fishing.

The action started small. Eduardo caught a couple of whiting and a piggy perch, but the biggest excitement came when something much larger grabbed his bait and cut the line near the rocks. He never got to see what it was, making the loss even more frustrating.

Eduardo continued moving down the jetty, trying different spots and eventually switching to a lure. He even had a speckled trout chase his lure near the surface and grab it, but the fish escaped before he could get a solid hook set.

Before heading back to Houston, Eduardo made one final stop at a popular roadside fishing spot in Freeport that viewers had recommended. With the area finally to himself, he used the last of his shrimp and managed to catch one more small fish.

It wasn't a day of trophy catches, but Eduardo's first trip to the Freeport Jetty gave him a chance to learn the area, catch a few fish, and discover another spot worth visiting again.
