Twin Lakes Anglers Club in West Columbia Texas

Eduardo and I headed to Twin Lakes Anglers Club in West Columbia as part of our ongoing search for new fishing honey holes. We were invited by co-owner Mike Bendit, and Captain Jake joined us on the water to teach us a few things about bass fishing. 

Since bass fishing is still relatively new to us, Jake showed us how to work moving baits, fish around hydrilla and lily pads, and target the areas where bass like to hide. It didn't take long before we started hooking fish, and I even landed my biggest bass yet.

What really made the trip interesting was learning the story behind Twin Lakes. Jake explained how he and others helped move bass into the main lake one fish at a time, while Mike shared how the club is working to restore lakes that had been neglected for years.

Mike also talked about creating a place where families can put down their phones, get outdoors, and spend real time together. That connected with Eduardo because one of his favorite things about fishing is the peacefulness. When Eduardo is on the water, he is rarely looking at his phone. He is just focused on fishing and enjoying the moment.

We came looking for another honey hole, but Twin Lakes gave us much more—a great day of bass fishing, new techniques, and a reminder of why we enjoy being on the water in the first place.
