Fishing Rockport Texas After Dark

Eduardo and I started our day at the Rockport Jetty, a spot where neither of us has had much luck with the weather. It was windy again, but we decided to give it a shot anyway.

Eduardo started catching fish pretty quickly using live bait while I switched over to artificial lures. We caught a mix of smaller fish, but eventually the wind became too much, so we packed everything up and searched for another spot.

Later that night, we ended up at Paradise Key and used the lights from the van to illuminate the water. The tide was low, but we could see fish moving around and knew there was a chance the bite could turn on.

For a while, I couldn't keep a fish hooked. I was getting plenty of bites but kept losing them, which gave Eduardo plenty of opportunities to give me a hard time.

Eventually, things changed. I landed a small speckled trout, and shortly afterward Eduardo caught one of his own. We also managed a ladyfish before calling it a night.

The fish weren't huge, but Paradise Key definitely caught our attention. I'd like to come back when the water is higher and see what this spot can really produce.
