Learning Freshwater Fishing, One Cast at a Time

Daniel Lopez

Eduardo and Daniel continued their freshwater fishing journey by exploring local ponds after work, determined to learn a completely new style of fishing. Between friendly jokes and conversations about tackle, jiu-jitsu, and future adventures, the pair enjoyed the slower pace that pond fishing offered after long work days.

As they reflected on the recent Texas Hunters Expo, they shared how much they enjoyed meeting subscribers and fellow creators, including Pepper Sanchez. The experience reinforced their goal of growing Vast Roam while staying connected to the fishing community.

The following morning, Eduardo returned to a pond alone before later meeting up with Carlo and his son at a neighborhood "secret" fishing spot. The group explored the shoreline, experimented with live bait and soft plastics, and searched for bass hiding beneath overhanging trees and vegetation.

Although fish proved hard to find, the outing wasn't without excitement. Carlo's son briefly hooked what everyone thought was a nice fish, only to discover it was a hungry turtle that had stolen the bait. After safely removing the hook and releasing it, the laughs continued.

Despite another slow day, Eduardo remained optimistic, knowing that every trip brings new lessons and that mastering freshwater fishing is all part of the adventure.
