Texas City Dike Storm Fishing

Daniel Lopez

Eduardo headed to the Texas City Dike hoping to squeeze in some fishing between storms. Eduardo had live shrimp and the same setup that had worked before, but thunder, lightning, and heavy rain quickly forced him back to the car.

Eduardo was completely drenched and almost called it a day. Then the rain slowed down, a rainbow appeared, and he figured he was already wet, so he might as well keep fishing. Going back paid off. Eduardo finally hooked into a small speckled trout just as the sun started breaking through.

While fishing, he also thought about how much Vast Roam has changed his life. I "Daniel" originally convinced Eduardo to go fishing even though he had never really been interested. Eduardo borrowed my gear on that first trip, didn't catch anything, and somehow still got hooked.

Now we are traveling, fishing, and making videos together. A rainy day at Texas City Dike was another reminder of how far this whole adventure has come.
