How many rods do you carry while fishing

Saltwater three rods for me ultralight , medium , medium heavy or heavy depending on where I'm headed out to fish all 7' Freshwater two rods medium 6'6" and medium heavy 7'
 
I take one bait caster and a backup lighter spinning reel. I only fish one at a time but @Eduardo “El Tiburon” and I are probably going to get a bigger combo for casting out for black drum and bull reds. We really want to keep improving so we need to really listen to others out actively fishing.

Something like a surf rod setup ?
 
Exactly like maybe a Penn 6000 and a large rod.
 
I typically use a small 200 size bait caster and a bigger conventional reel (Penn squall III casting special) on a 12' Breakwater rod for getting bait way out into the surf. I like to keep busy catching small bait fish while I'm waiting for a bigger fish on the larger setup.

Penn squall III awesome reel
 
I take 3 to 4 depending on where I'm going to fish.
