Another fishing adventure along the Texas coast. The trip began with jokes about the motel situation after I booked what might’ve been one of the roughest hotels we’ve stayed at yet. After leaving the hotel, we stopped at a taqueria in Corpus Christi called Mi Casita, where the breakfast tacos were massive — literally bigger than our faces. The homemade tortillas and green sauce instantly made us happy.
From there, we headed back toward Seadrift Harbor hoping to finally hook into some fish. Most of the trip turned into exploring random fishing spots, talking about future channel ideas, AI travel assistants, and van life plans while chasing cooler weather across places like Colorado and Oregon.
The craziest moment came when we discovered a live mantis shrimp in the bait bucket. After reading that their punch hits like a .22 caliber bullet, neither of us wanted to touch it. Somehow we still used it as bait anyway.
Even without catching much, the road trip was full of laughs, weird discoveries, and the kind of random moments that always make these fishing trips worth it.
