We take a break from work and head out to Seadrift, Texas for a laid-back fishing trip. Just @Eduardo “Oso” and I, some gear, and an ice chest full of ice because this time we’re actually planning to keep fish. After getting teased for coming home empty-handed on previous trips, we’re determined to bring some fish back.
Throughout the day, we experiment with different techniques and setups. We joke around about how catching fish on lures feels more like an accomplishment than soaking bait, but really, we just want to catch something. We talk about trucks, reels, and rods, then drift into bigger topics like podcasts, getting older, and trying to get healthier through better eating and fasting.
It’s less about hardcore fishing and more about enjoying the day and the company. For me, the trip isn’t just about catching fish—it’s about the grind, the memories, and time spent outdoors with a friend.
